The best way to clean concrete is with a pressure washer and a mild cleaner, like the Armor MSC100. The Armor MSC100 is an environmentally friendly cleaning solution for concrete, brick, pavers, natural stone, siding, gutters, and more. When combined with a pressure washer, years of dirt and stains can instantly be removed, leaving you with like-new concrete.
Pressure washing, in combination with the use of the Armor MSC100, can help to remove:
- Dirt and environment stains
- Moss, mold, mildew, and algae
- Gum stains
- Some surface stains
- Leaf stains
- More!
There are a few different attachments that can be used on your pressure washer. The first attachment is called a Turbo or Rotary nozzle. These types of nozzles add power to the spray capacity by creating a circular spray pattern. The extra agitation magnifies the cleaning power. This tool isn’t required, but it adds that much more power to the cleaning process. The second attachment is just a spray nozzle (most common). Spray nozzles allow for a directed flow of water. If you need a little extra cleaning power to remove tire marks and other stains, a heated pressure washer is a great option.
Oil, gas, and rust stains can sometimes be removed with a pressure washer, but in most cases, a stain-specific cleaner will need to be required. Degreasers are very common for oil stains, and the Armor Rust Remover is great for iron and rust stains. If an acid-based cleaner is used, it is important to also neutralize the concrete before sealing. If a cleaner was used, it is important to make sure that any residue left behind by the cleaner is also removed.
Once the concrete has been cleaned, you want to seal the concrete in order to prevent damage, deterioration, and future staining. The most common concrete sealers are water repellent sealers like the Armor SX5000 and Armor SX5000 WB, and acrylic sealers like the Armor AR350, Armor AR500, Armor WB15, and Armor WB25.
