Foundation Armor penetrating sealers can be applied to unsealed and unpolished granite, limestone, travertine, slate, flagstone, quartzite, and sandstone. Due to the porosity of the natural stones, in many cases only one coat will be required. It is always suggest to apply the product in an inconspicuous test area first.
Foundation Armor sealers are designed to protect natural stone surfaces and prevent them from deterioration caused by water absorption. They will also help to reduce the growth of mold and mildew, and the formation of efflorescence. Foundation Armor sealers will not change the look or color of the stone, and are not designed to enhance the surface or change the color.
Armor SX5000 - DOT approved solvent based Silane Siloxane water repellent sealer.
Armor SX5000 WB - DOT approved water based silane Siloxane water repellent sealer.
Armor WL550 - Solvent based matte wet look water repellent sealer. 2 coat application.
Unless you are trying to seal exposed aggregate, Foundation Armor does not recommend the use of an acrylic sealer or coating on granite, limestone, travertine, slate, flagstone, quartzite, and sandstone. While acrylic sealers have been used after a successful test area, it is important to make sure that natural stone remains breathable.
If you want a wet look sealer, the Armor WL550 is a great option. It will darken the stone to make it look wet, and it won't leave behind a film to maintain. It is a great alternative to acrylic sealers.
