Reduce the movement of water through the pores of the concrete with a concrete surface hardener and densifier. Concrete surface hardeners and densifiers penetrate through the surface where they chemically react within the pores to form a hardened CSH structure. This structure can’t be seen on the surface, and surfaces treated with a densifier will not experience a change in look or color. The CSH structure formed within the pores is permanent and will increase in size with each additional coat. As the CSH structure expands, and the size of the pores is reduced – limiting the movement of water and moisture. Surface hardeners and densifiers will not stop water and moisture as they are breathable, and should only be applied to unsealed concrete, cinderblock, and concrete block surfaces.
Armor S2000 - Concentrated sodium silicate densifier and surface hardener for porous surfaces.
Armor L3000 - Concentrated lithium silicate densifier and surface hardener for dense surfaces.
For surfaces with moisture issues but no water issues, a water repellent sealer may be more appropriate. Water repellent sealers penetrate through the surface where they chemically react to form a hydrophobic barrier within the pores. Once the second coat has fully cured, moisture within the pores can be reduced by up to 2-3 LBS. Water repellent sealers will not stop moisture as they are breathable, and should only be applied to unsealed concrete, cinderblock, and concrete block surfaces. Water repellent sealers can be applied over surfaces previously sealed with the Armor S2000 or Armor L3000.
