Water based siliconate water repellent sealer and salt guard for light or white concrete.
The Armor SC25 should be applied with a HVLP pump sprayer. For best results, avoid applying with a roller. Apply one single consistent coat, do not puddle. Do not attempt to apply a second coat. The Armor SC25 is fast-acting and will prevent additional material from being absorbed into the surface. If you feel you have underapplied the product, please contact a Foundation Armor technician.
Time of Day
To allow for proper absorption and reaction, the Armor SC25 should only be applied in the early evening (around 5 PM or later) when air and surface temperatures are declining, and when the sun is no longer positioned over the surface.
Surface Preparation
The Armor SC25 should be applied to a completely clean and dry surface. If the surface was cleaned with water or pressure washed prior to application, allow the surface to dry for at least 24 hours before sealing. While the surface may appear dry and feel dry to touch, water below the surface trapped in the pores can cause the same issues. While pressure washing the surface is typically sufficient, spot treatment may be necessary for deep or older stains. If the surface is smooth troweled, or does not easily accept water, acid etching may be required prior to applying sealer. It is always suggested to apply the Armor SC25 to a test area to verify absorption, coverage, compatibility, and project suitability.
The Armor SC25 is designed specifically for unsealed white or light concrete surfaces. Do not apply this product over a surface recently sealed with a water repellent sealer, or previously sealed with a film-forming sealer or coating.
For complete application instructions and safety data, please refer to the Documents tab.
Porous Surfaces: Up to 175 FT2/gallon in one coat.
Smooth Surfaces (once properly prepped): Up to 200-225 FT2/gallon in one coat.
Coverage will vary depending on porosity, surface condition, application method, and the amount of material applied by the applicator. The above coverage rates are estimates and will vary.
The Armor SC25 is a fast-acting cost-effective penetrating water repellent sealer specifically formulated for white, or very light unsealed concrete surfaces. It penetrates deep into the substrate where it chemically reacts to form a hydrophobic barrier within the pores that reduces surface water absorption by up to 95%.
The Armor SC25 is made from high quality, non-recycled, US manufactured resins. It is designed for unsealed white and very light concrete. It works entirely below the surface, won’t change the look or color of the substrate, and won’t leave a surface film. By reducing surface water absorption, cracking, spalling, pitting, mold, mildew, algae, staining, and other damage and deterioration caused by surface water absorption will also be reduced.
Benefits:
Uses
The Armor SC25 is a great choice for a variety of interior and exterior concrete applications, including:
The SC25 can be applied to a variety of interior and exterior concrete surfaces, including:
The Armor SC25 is designed specifically to be used on unsealed white or very light concrete It can’t be applied to surfaces recently applied with a water repellent sealer, or surfaces previously sealed with a film-forming sealer or coating. It can’t be applied to medium to dark gray concrete, colored concrete, brick, exposed aggregate concrete, slate, flagstone, masonry, or anything other than white or very light concrete. Applying the Armor SC25 outside of the suggested application will result in the formation of white crystals on the surface.
If you are looking for a water repellent sealer for unsealed medium gray concrete, red clay brick, natural stone, or other masonry, consider instead the Armor SX5000 WB.
Appearance
The Armor SC25 is designed to work entirely below the surface. It will not change the look or color of the substrate and it will not leave a visible surface film when properly applied.
If you are looking for a wet look, low gloss, or high gloss, consider instead the Armor WL550 for a matte wet look, the Armor AR350 for a low gloss wet look, or the Armor AR500 for a high gloss wet look.
Product Life
When properly applied, the Armor SC25 can provide up to 3-5 years of life on an exterior surface before the need to recoat.
Water Bead: Surface water beading will not occur on all surfaces. While some surfaces may experience an instantaneous bead, others won’t experience a surface water bead at all. Surface water beading is not a sealer benefit. Surface water bead is caused from resin build-up on the surface. Once the resin build-up goes away, so will the bead. The Armor SC25 is designed to work entirely below the surface so its benefits are made visible through performance. You will find sealed surfaces dry faster, are easier to clean, and experience less damage caused by freeze-thaw cycles and de-icing salts.
