Waterproofing Products: concrete sealer – Concrete Crack Repair.
Waterproofing products. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of waterproofing products on the market – all claiming to be the best. While they all claim to do the same thing, they couldn’t be more different. We have a lot of customers call us and ask us why we sell the best waterproofing products which is why we created a waterproofing products page. From a simple, scientific standpoint, here is why our line of waterproofing products has earned the title, “Best Waterproofing Products.”
Waterproofing Product #1 – Concrete Sealer
For decades, commercial and industrial clients have been using silicates to protect and seal concrete. For just as long, companies have been trying to improve silicates to gain a competative advantage in the market place. Proprietary blends, siliconates, and surfactants are used by many companies to market the fact that their sealer offers the deepest penetration. The interesting thing about that is proprietary blends, siliconates, and surfactants have never actually been proven to allow for a deeper penetration. Ever. Further, you can find sodium silicate, potassium silicate, and lithium silicate. Again, the only thing that actually reacts with the free lime is the silicate – not the sodium, not the potassium, not the lithium. Sodium silicates are the most cost effective solution and are very safe and very easy to use.
How is our silicate sealer different? We require you to dilute our sealer with 3 parts hot water. The hot water opens up the capillaries in the concrete which allows the sealer to penetrate deeper. The silicate reacts with the free lime in the concrete to form a crystalline barrier within the pores of the concrete. Once dry, the concrete is strengthened by up to 45% to stop water, vapors, moisture, and radon. When you purchase the Foundation Armor concrete sealer, you pay for sealer and add your own water.
Because the Foundation Armor concrete sealer is sold in concentrated form, you can adjust the dilution ratio to better suit your needs. For that reason, our sealer can be used on dry concrete, wet concrete, concrete with mild or sever seepage issues, and more.
The Foundation Armor concrete sealers goes on and dries clear. You can’t even tell the concrete has ever been sealed. You can paint over the concrete once sealed. You can also use concrete wax and polish the surface for a nice shine.
Waterproofing Product #2 – Concrete Crack Repair
There are two categories of Concrete Crack Repair products: temporary and permanent. 99.99% of all crack repair products on the market are temporary concrete crack repair solutions. They either 1) don’t bond to the concrete or 2) bond to the concrete but don’t repair the entire crack. The Foundation Armor concrete crack repair kit falls into the .01% of products that truely offer permanent crack repair solutions. It repairs the crack from the back of the crack to the front of the crack – repairing the entire crack.
The Foundation Armor concrete repair kit is a hydrophobic polyurethane liquid which is designed to stop water infiltration or ex-filtration. When the Foundation Armor injection liquid meets water, it reacts with it (expanding 30-40X its volume) and then repels it forming a closed cell foam barrier which will not allow water to pass through it. It adheres tenaciously to practically all substrates, wet or dry. The bond created between the Foundation Armor polyurethane liquid and concrete is permanent.
How the concrete crack repair kit works:
- Drill 1/2″ holes into the concrete that intercept the center of the crack. Insert aluminum injection ports into the drilled holes.
- Mix the Foundation Armor polyurethane solution and accelerator into the injection gun. Attach the injection gun to the aluminum injection port and start pumping.
- The polyurethane solution is injected into the crack. Once it hits water (if you have a dry crack, you will add water), the polyurethane will turn into a foam and expand 40X.
- The foam will start at the back of the crack and move to the front of the crack.
- Continue up the wall and repeat for all of the injection ports.
- Wipe off any extra material. Let dry.
The Foundation Armor concrete crack repair kit is one of the only kits that can be used on dry, wet, leaking, and gushing cracks in interior and exterior concrete.
