***The importance of aluminum injection ports & the Foundation Armor difference. The thought of drilling into concrete can be scary to homeowners – but what you don’t realize is that without drilling – you can’t fully repair a concrete crack. The aluminum injection ports are injected into the concrete to intercept the crack. When you inject the Foundation Armor crack repair solution into the ports, the ports allow for a consistant and complete fill of the entire crack – forming a closed cell barrier which will not allow water to pass through it. You can leave the packers in the wall or remove them. Plastic ports, like offered by other companies, can only be used for low pressure applications and DO NOT allow you to fill the entire crack – leaving you with a partially repaired and vulnurable crack. The Foundation Armor concrete repair kit is a hydrophobic polyurethane liquid which is designed to stop water infiltration or ex-filtration. When the Foundation Armor injection liquid meets water, it reacts with it and then repels it forming a closed cell foam barrier which will not allow water to pass through it. It adheres tenaciously to practically all substrates, wet or dry.

The Foundation Armor crack repair kit is a hydrophobic water cut- off hydro / water activated injection foam grout and soil stabilization grout based on a MDI (methylene-diphenyl-isocyanate) polyurethane. The resin is 100% solvent free and 100% solids.

Upon contact with water, the foam reacts to a seal foam while expanding its volume 30 to 40 times (almost double that of other leading concrete crack repair brands). The cured material is semi flexible and of a constant volume. Since water is not a component of the foam structure, the cured material is essentially not effected by water or dryness. The reacted material does not shrink or swell.

The Foundation Armor crack repair kit is is designed for cutting off gushing water of high pressure and speed (but works great on dry and leaking cracks as well (just add water to the crack). Due to the low viscosity of the material, the foam offers superior penetration in hairline crack injection. The product is also suitable for the filling of larger spaces, cracks and honeycombing in stone or concrete structures. The product can be applied as a non-shrink, high strength soil stabilization grout when used with very little accelerator. The moisture content of the soil must be sufficient to ensure reaction.

How do our kits compare to kits that come with polyurethane injection tubes (cartriges)? There are a few reasons (a more detailed explanation can be found further down the page): 1) Our injection gun. Our injection gun is a professional grade injection gun capable of putting out 5,000+ psi – the most you will find on the market – which is why you can use our kits on dry, wet, leaking, and even gushing cracks. 2) Our accelerator. You can add accelerator to our solution – the amount will depend on the size and condition of the crack. If you have a dry crack, you may not require accelerator. If you have a gushing crack, adding accelerator will help to stop the water faster. 3) Our foam expands its volume 30 to 40 times. Kits that come with injection tubes only expand their volume 20 times.
