Concrete Spider Cracks
This entry was posted on October 22, 2012.
A concrete spider crack is different than a hairline crack. Spider cracks:
- Won't leak because they don't go completely through the concrete.
- Are very narrow cracks and are usually scattered.
- Are typically not of structural concerned and caused from issues like shrinkage.
Spider cracks aren't usually concerning cracks and can typically repaired by using a concrete sealer. Spider cracks are too tiny to use a crack repair kit and a sealer, like Foundation Armor concrete sealers, can react with the concrete to form a crystalline barrier between the crack within the concrete. If you aren't sure, you can always seal your concrete and use a crack filler down in conjunction with the sealer, or later down the road.
